Provides near real-time access to top world-wide news from Associated Press on a continuous basis. Content is monitored by EBSCO and relevant results are provided when users enter searches. Includes AP Top News, WorldStream, Financial News, AP Online, 50 State Reports and U.S. Politics & Government. Links to full text of the NewsMonitor-delivered web content.

To find a newspaper title in the database:Newspaper Soucce
1. Click the Publications link (top menu bar).
2. Under Browsing: Newspaper Source Plus--Publications (middle of page), key in a newspaper title or click an alpha to browse titles. A list of titles is displayed.
3. Mark the box(es) in front of the title(s) to view or search. Click the Add button.
4. Your selected title is entered into search text box at the top of the page. Click the Search button.
5. Key in your terms. Limit dates to narrow the results.
-- After selecting a newspaper title, on the publication details page, under All Issues (on the right), choose a year then a date/issue. Browse the results or key in search terms.
-- To search all issues, click the Search within this publication and key in your terms.

80+ regional business publications covering all metropolitan and rural areas within the U.S.; includes some newspapers.

Click the 2 databases link (page top) and uncheck other database(s).

All newspaper titles, including online, print, and CD-ROM, are in the A-to-Z Journals List.

Step 1: Go to the A-to-Z Journals List and key in the newspaper title or use the QuickSearch above.

Step 2: Follow the links to the full text.For example, click the database name under

the newspaper title, then choose the year and issue or date you need.

Note: Some newspapers may be available only in print in the library.

Newspapers - In the Library

Complimentary Tulsa World Newspapers

Monday - Friday a limited number of complimentary copies of the Tulsa World newspaper are available to faculty and students at the 4th floor Circulation Desk.  You will need a valid ORU ID, and will be asked to sign for each copy received.

Print newspapers are located in the Periodicals Area, 4th floor, LRC. Titles include Chronicle of Higher Education, Oklahoma Eagle, Tulsa World and USA Today.

  • Newspaper ArchThe library keeps the current three months in the wooden shelf unit located in the center of the bound periodicals area, LRC-4th floor.
  • Shelves are numbered "Day 1," "Day 2," "Day 3," etc., which correspond to the newspaper dates, such as July 1, July 2, July 3, etc.
  • The most current month's issue of a newspaper title is to the left side of the drawer (when you are facing the drawer), and subsequent months are housed on the right side of the drawer.

In addition to print copies, many local, national, and international newspaper titles are also available online. Use the ORU databases to search, access and read your home-town or city newspaper or get a global perspective on current issues of interest to you.

Newspapers/ News Publications- Selected Sites

The content of Web sites and ORU's newspaper databases varies. For example, the library databases include full text, while newspaper Web sites may have only limited access. Additionally, most newspaper Web sites include advertising.
