It is my privilege to have joined the Graduate School of Theology and Missions faculty at Oral Roberts University as an Assistant Professor of Practical Theology in August of 2007. I also serve as the Director of Modular and Distance Education Programs and am a member of the Deans Administrative Team. I received a B.A. in Pastoral Studies from North Central University in 1983, an M.Div. from Oral Roberts University in 1995, and a D.Min. from Oral Roberts University in 1999.

Prior to coming to ORU I spent twenty-four years providing leadership and developing positive cultures within a number of Christian organizations. Two of these were churches that I served as the founding Pastor and a third was an evangelistic ministry, of which I am the current president, called Flaming Hearts Ministries International. In a two-year period I had the privilege of conducting 276 evangelistic meetings in Brazil and in Brazilian churches across America. I also spent three years as the director of Global Ministries Training Institute in Billings, MT, taught on the faculty at North Central University in Minneapolis, MN, and was a contracted certified instructor for Northwest Airline employees. My pastoral ministry also includes experience in Youth, Christian Education, Young Adults, Worship, and as an Assistant or Associate Pastor in churches of all sizes in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Montana.

My wife Shawn and I were married in 1982 and have two wonderful sons. Our oldest, Trent (b.1989,) is a student at ORU, and our youngest, Tori (b. 1996), is in the Jenks school district. Both boys are great musicians.  As a family, we love to spend time traveling or enjoying water activities together. I also enjoy relaxing rides on my Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

I have as a heritage a strong Pentecostal background. One of my grandfathers was a Pentecostal Swedish Baptist Pastor and the other was a Pentecostal Lay Lutheran Pastor. In the early 1930’s they came alongside a young Assembly of God preacher to start a thriving church in my hometown. I am currently an ordained minister within the Assemblies of God.
