Curriculum Vita

Felipe Ornelas has 13 years combined teaching experience in the secondary education and collegiate worlds.  Mr. Ornelas has a passion for languages, ancient and modern.  His research is focused upon Hermeneutic approaches that emphasize the importance of understanding the context of the Hebrew Bible in New Testament Studies.

This emphasis on Hebrew cultural and the Jewish faith has led to vital relationships with Jewish and Christian organizations looking to cooperate on academic, political and human rights initiatives.  As the Assistant Director for the Center for Israel and Middle East Studies at ORU, Ornelas enjoys active partnerships with organizations such as: The Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation, International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, A.I.P.A.C, and C.U.F.I.  He enjoys hosting representatives from these organizations on campus and in his classes, and also arranges internships for students in these organizations at home and abroad.  All of these experiences are channeled into his Christian Worldview classes where the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is portrayed as a loving God who loves to work within civilization, culture, ethnicity, and family to be a blessing that cannot be contained with political and geographic boundaries.

Ornelas has a diversity of teaching experience lecturing on topics ranging from biology, humanities, theology, government and history.  Ornelas received a B.A. in New Testament and M.A. in Biblical Literature from Oral Roberts University.
