Academic Highlights

Beverly Garrison, an Assistant professor at Oral Roberts University, believes ORU "draws a student population that wants to learn".

Professor Garrison is a graduate of Oral Roberts University with a BA in History and Sociology. After graduating, she became an adjunct instructor at ORU. She later earned a MA from the University of Tulsa in History, and is currently an Assistant Professor at ORU.

Garrison teaches History 101, Government 101 and upper division history and government classes. Her favorite thing about teaching at Oral Roberts University is that she is able to teach with "academic freedom" and the interaction with ORU's "motivated and eager to learn" students. She wants her students to exit ORU having a "sound Christian worldview."

When she's not teaching, she may be found spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoys reading and doing handwork such as knitting or crocheting
